Hi Friends, The last underway missive and a thought on the first week home. Wayne, Kai and Paul got me home safely, and with the camaraderie of good crew I had little time to reflect on the finish of Gypsy Soul’s circumnavigation. It was an easy no- danger crossing; we even motored for about 2 of the days as the gulf was like a still pond. The most excitement we had been in screaming fishing... [read more]

Hi Mom, Well it’s the last missive from abroad I think, and a long one filled with the last weeks adventure and a few reflective moments on the last leg home. Mom Arrived safe and sound, Now here's a laugh, get a beer in hand. I'm sitting in the airport and a film crew comes in, more than 30 people, big fucking cameras, directors, shooting some kind of major motion picture, all talking on walky-talkys with head sets. I am in the front row of seats for arrivals, a dozen other people sitting in rows spread out behind me. A guy sits next to me munchi... [read more]

Hi Mom, I just dropped anchor in Nassau, where you will be flying in two weeks thanks to our hero of logistics, brother Wayne. You will love it. I had a good but very-hard trip, 4 hours sleep in 40, dozens of sail changes and hundreds of adjustments, reefs, and ass-puckering gnarly passes with big breaking waves. But The Gypsy Soul also sailed aquamarine waters that matched the sky, with les... [read more]

It's been a week and time again for a Mom missive, Windless sweaty days have driven Ryan and I into the water, snorkeling and wreck exploring. We've spent some time at motor on glassy seas without swell, which though boring from a sailing standpoint gave us the opportunity to visit rarely tenable anchorages. Lobster had been on the menu several times, sushi/sashimi daily as well, lots of fresh ... [read more]

A new dawn Hi Mom and Friends, I can see Turks and Caicos, the Island of Provedencia, and all's well. It seems as though the end of an era, even when arriving in a new country. Ryan is flying in this evening for all-you-can-eat Sushi, and to sail with me to the Bahamas. I received several emails from friends wishing me Hap-B-Day, and thanks to all, glad you enjoyed the read, it was a real... [read more]
